Based on the Subaru Impreza that was crafted for the 1992 World Rally Championship, the Subaru WRX is the automaker’s signature sport compact. It was first produced in 1992 and was heavily based on the Impreza until 2014. The first standalone WRX models were released beginning the 2015 model year. The Subaru WRX has established itself as one of the go-to sport compacts in the US market, routinely selling over 20,000 units annually.
With the 2024 Subaru WRX lineup, you can choose from the following trim options: base, Premium, Limited, GT, and TR. All models are configured as all-wheel drive (AWD). For the transmission, you can also select from either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed CVT. The powertrain of the latest WRX is a powerful 2.4-liter H4 engine that produces 271 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. For comfortable and agile handling, it comes with a sport-tuned suspension. The front is a coil-spring strut suspension and the rear is a coil-spring double wishbone.
How Fast Is the Subaru WRX?
